A b o u t     t h e     E x h i b i t i o n

 

Workplace Art is hosting an exhibition of artists from Frankfurt am Main in Germany to coincide with the annual Southwark Festival of Visual and Performing Arts.

The painters we are showing are all established artists in Germany and do not exhibit together as a formal 'group' but do share common ground in the sense that they all studied at the Stadelacademie in Frankfurt at different times, and have coincidentally appeared together in exhibitions over the years as their careers developed. All of them have had studios or shown in the exhibition space at the Standort in Frankfurt, set up by Joachim Raab.

Acting as intermediaries, the A2 Arts artists group (from South East London) have engaged in several exchange exhibitions with the Standort since 1997. They are committed to extending a dialogue with other artists groups across Europe.

Joachim Raab and Olaf Auer have been building up contacts with Artists, Galleries and Societies in Switzerland and Paris. Their aim is to form an international network and to propose exchange exhibitions with Frankfurt over the coming years.
